My trip to Poland has inspired me to plan for my next country to visit, Hungary.

It's 12.20am and I'm taking some time off to type this post, even though I should be watching running man and eating snacks. HAHA!

 Well I read this article recently and honestly, it's quite thought provoking...

"Why I'm leaving Goldman Sachs"

It's exactly the same as the true story in the famous book "Liar's Poker". And I think the book is good too. However, there are quite many financial terms so it may be a bit hard to follow somewhere through the book.

 Anyway, I am looking forward to reading 2 books. "Animal Spirits" and "This time is different". I would recommend "Animal Spirits", the term was first used by Keynes. Anyway it talks about behavorial finance and I really think it's quite cool and simple to follow. "This time is different" might prove to be a bit boring to some again, due to all the financial lingos. Haha.

 CASE STUDY 1
 
U know recently we have some guests over (well we always have guests -,-")... And I just find it interesting so I feel like sharing it...


Well it's like a 3 person conversation (2 hosts 1 guest) and it was all along okay until they talked about hobbies and the guest said she plays golf.

Host: Wah golf is an expensive sport. How much is your golf club?

Guest: Actually my golf club is relatively cheap, around $400.

Host: Ohhh (thinking it's okay because there's like the average price of a club)

Host: Then dont you need to pay for the membership of the golf club?

Guest: Oh actually the membership for the golf turf and club is much more expensive than the golf club itself.

Host: How much?

Guest: Lifetime membership is about $300,000.


See? This is what I mean by conversation ender... Silence after "ohhhh" for a moment... And you can reckon what's going on in the 2 hosts' heads.



QUESTION 1
 Now, will you mind getting together with a girl whose family is so damn rich? And when I say rich it means the gap is really really big!

I mean the rightfully correct answer will be sentences like "of course not. When I really love someone I wouldnt mind how much he earns or how rich he is, etc..."

Look me in the eyes and tell me that again. You dont mind how much he earns. You freaking sure about it? Really? What happened to all the honesty? Ha.


Well of course I wouldnt type out what I personally feel about it la.. But I think, becoz of the difference in income and how you are brought up, both your lives and your preception of money will be very very different.


Before that I need to confess something. HAHA! I'm very 'poor', 'unromantic' and 'uncreative'.

I collect snowglobes. Well it's a group thing for this, and it's quite funny. It's like everytime when we wanna buy a souvenir, we will search for the cheapest shops and for me, the thought process for buying a simple and 'cheap' snowglobe (4 euros most of the time) is quite complex and haha I can say, it will take me really quite some time to finally decide to choose and buy 1 stupid snowglobe!

Unless I'm buying things for someone I like ah, if not I know I will take damn damn damn long to decide to buy something. It's true. I'm poor man. HAHAHA.


And I've seen how rich girls spend their money.. I have to admit, most of the time I'm quite stunned by how they spend their money. Haha it's like.. Went shopping and suddenly they saw this perfume shop. And each of them just bought like 100euros worth of perfume. Holy shit. LOL!!! (My whole Poland trip : 120 Euros)


Thats why I think difference in income will create a different mindset which makes it harder to get together smoothly. Not saying that it's impossible, just that it's harder...

Do you have to learn how to play golf if you ever get together with that guest? LOL!!!!



Ok there are like 10 case studies... But well, gonna just talk about a few la.. It's getting personal..

 CASE STUDY 2

Ok I have a friend. And recently he was chatting with this girl. And of course among the casual talk they dwell into relationships.

The girl is attached. And erm becoz they planned and will be travelling together alone at some point of time, the guy got a bit concerned and asked her if her bf will mind that she travels only with a guy or not.

And the girl's reply was, "non existent. it doesnt matter one."

Then my friend asked her, "huh what non existent."

Then the girl took quite sometime to reply, "my boyfriend is non existent so it's okay."

Then the guy dont dare to probe further already coz it seems like she's dun wanna talk about it.

QUESTION 2

What does it mean when the girl made that statement???



CASE STUDY 3

Well becoz the girl is very very close to my friend, especially when they took photos together. And together with all the various various evidence brought across by the girl, the guy and his friends are quite confident of her interest in him. Whats funny is that the guy actually likes the girl's character!!! That means the guy is interested in her too!!!

But my friend is damn confused. Because he is unclear of the girl's background. Like according to her friend she has bf. But again she said her bf is non existent. And reliable sources showed that she has a very close fake bf. LOL! WTS right?

But my friend realised despite all these, he still likes her character. It's just that he will never be the third party and if the girl really has bf, then he will not even attempt to break them up. But if the girl has already broken up with her bf, he may take a chance. It's not rational but he will go for it becoz u know, he likes her.

QUESTION 3

What will you, as my friend do? Now, given all the things you heard about her (being flirty), you know you will still like her because it's hard to control such feeling. Isnt it?

And this actually links to a question. Would you want your gf to be honest with you about her past? You and a girl are going steady and well, one day the girl suddenly confessed and said that actually her past is pretty rotten. It's like she's very wild and clubs almost 4 times a week those type. Would you mind?

You'll be disappointed, for sure. But haix. Who asks u to like her. I mean, I think you should be happy that she's honest to you. For at least she dares to tell you how wild she was (and I mean WAS. Not IS. This means she cannot still be her wild character when she gets together with you!)

I mean, you will forgive her right? I guess you wouldnt mind now. You love her and that's all that matters now.


QUESTION 4

Haha this is interesting but let's say you are a girl that's damn havoc one. Wouldnt you be afraid that someday you will meet this guy whose loyal, faithful and truly nice to you. Now this guy has a really clean background and you like him very very very much so you decided to change for the better. After that, you have 2 options, to tell him about your past or to hide it from him.

Now, which one will you choose? You know that your value has depreciated exponentially and by a lot once ppl know that you used to be damn wild, or get touched, or whatever shit la..  Telling him might mean you'll lose him forever. Hiding it from him might prove to be worse because it's a small world so probably he will find out one day from your friends or others too.

How? Say or no say?

Of course it's easy to say "早知今日何必当初"... But such thing it's really hard to say one right.. It's like when you have the feel or when something happens that time, you think it's easy resisting meh??? Haha.

And it's not easy hiding the truth. Especially when everyone's connected and has mutual friends. 要知道是可以的，只看要不要而已。

I did a count on the countries I have travelled and will be travelling to recently.

Anyway, 6 months of Europe study exchange programme. Total expenses including air tix, hostel room rental, travelling expenses, daily expneses, school fees, etc. SGD $9,895.21.

MY HAIR!!!


Oh being random, when I left Amsterdam for Poland, the temperature was 15 deg. When I come back, it become 26 deg!!! IT'S REALLY REALLY HOT!!! Just like SINGAPORE!!!


Okay my hair. Looked thru all the photos and picked some to show the difference.



Before that, random again.. LOL!!! I kinda laughed out loud when I went thru the photos and saw my roomie and remembering how my friends labelled him as "funny face".. HAHAHAH!

LOVE IT!


Spent all 3 nights sitting in different cafe outlets near the side of the main market square, watching Polish people walk by and live their lives! AWESOME! LOVE SUCH CHILLED AND RELAXED LIFE!



My idea of a good date has changed completely... From movie shopping centre dinner to nature reserve hiking cycling park beach cafe by the road! WAY TOO GOOD :D

Awesome Paris! (Except for the complicated train system @ st lazare and the language barrier)

Stayed in friends' hostel. So accomodation was free! Everything is good except that we have to travel 1+hour to get to the hostel from paris... So I reach the room every night at around 1am.. And gotta wake at 7am or earlier for the nxt day's adventure. But overall, it's great!

Of course, non other than the famous museum "Louvre"!


What caught my interest more was the mummy. IT'S A REAL ONE!!!



LES PARIS UNDERGROUND CATACOMBS!



Notre Dame Cathedral! (Where the zero point of Paris is!)


And of course! Eiffel Tower which glitters at night!


(I didnt bother to put Arc De Triomphe in coz it's nothing)


Disneyland Paris. I swear I'm gonna bring my kids to every Disneyland next time!

Most awesome thriller ride of all! This tower of terror is just holy shiit!! Was scammed into believing it's just a seated stimulator inside a 'lift'!!! Until it raised me up 3 floors! Dropped 1 floor. Then dropped another floor.

Then it raised all the way up to about 10 levels high... Doors opened. Saw the full view of Disneyland. THEN DROP ALL THE WAY DOWN!!!!! LOL!!!  




Another exciting ride! RC RACER!!!



Loss for words... A pity we only completed 90% of the rides! Nv complete all rides in the 2 parks..




Not much comments for the D-Day beach.



Sadly, I think human nature still plays a big determining factor.

If you never bomb me that time, maybe I wouldnt even be involved in it?


And how could I forget about the little French snacks!?
 





And great thanks to our Amsterdam guests who then became our Paris hosts! HAHA!



I think the total walking distance for this 4 days Paris trip is... About 20km? Considered little as compared to walking 13km straight to the Madrid airport to save 2 euros...






Oh ya! I read up on forums and they said the reason why they dont like speaking English is because of their culture. They feel shy or embarrassed to speak a foreign language and feel that ppl should speak French to them in their own country. Some said they refused to acknowledge that English is the mightiest language.. Blah blah blah..



And you see many many many padlocks on the bridge, fences sometimes! They're called Love Padlocks to symbolise everlasting love!
